What is Kybella®?
Kybella® is a non-surgical and minimally invasive injectable treatment that is FDA-approved to reduce the appearance of a double chin. With Kybella®, patients can achieve a more contoured jawline without weeks of uncomfortable downtime.
This product’s key ingredient is synthetic deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body. Deoxycholic acid helps the body break down and absorb fat.
When Kybella® is injected into areas of fat underneath the chin, it begins to destroy fat cells in the area. Once the fat cells are destroyed, the body can no longer accumulate fat in the area, resulting in a more defined neck and jawline.
At Nusclupt our patients consider us to offer the best Kybella® treatment in Cincinnati, Ohio, Crestview Hills, Kentucky, and Boca Raton, Florida.
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?
Optimal candidates for Kybella® are over age 18, do not have any infections or other health issues in the treatment region, and are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients taking anti-inflammatory drugs must speak with their doctor before coming in for a Kybella treatment. Non-smokers are preferred, since smoking negatively affects tissue health.
What is a Kybella® Treatment Like?
The first step in your Kybella® double-chin-reduction treatment is applying a topical anesthetic to the treatment area. This numbs the skin to ensure that the injection is as painless as possible.
After this, a number of Kybella® injections will be performed in the neck and chin area. This process takes only a few minutes, so the full Kybella® treatment is completed in less than half an hour.
Is There Any Downtime After Kybella®?
Kybella® and many other injectables are popular cosmetic treatments because they require absolutely no downtime. Patients are able to return to work and other normal activities immediately after their appointment, making Kybella® a great “lunchtime” procedure.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Kybella®?
The results from your Kybella® treatment will develop gradually as fat cells are destroyed and eliminated from the body. Patients typically need a series of four to six Kybella® treatments to achieve their desired results. Most patients notice results after just two treatments, with optimal results occurring after the final session. At least one month must pass between each treatment.
Some patients may experience mild redness or bruising in the treatment area from the injections. These effects will fade on their own within a few days. Since Kybella® permanently destroys fat cells in the treated area, the results can be permanent if the patient maintains healthy diet and exercise habits.
How Much Does Kybella® Cost?
The cost of your Kybella® treatment will depend on the number of injections necessary to deliver your desired results. When you come in for your initial consultation, we will develop a personalized treatment plan that includes the exact cost of your treatment.
As a cosmetic procedure, Kybella® is not covered by insurance providers. In order to keep this and other treatments affordable to our patients, we offer financing through CareCredit® and accept all major credit cards.
